One (of the many) reason why we think transparency is important in marriage is because it prevents secrecy. Having secrets in a marriage eats away at the trust between husband and wife.

I believe transparency (with respect) is important in a marriage, in order to find the most peace amongst the spouses. To lay everything on the table, so you can then fix what you can, compromise where you need and fully know one another’s desires.
If I’m going to spend the rest of my life with someone, I truly want us to know one another better than anyone else, so we can consistently work on “our flow,” through life together.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Paisley!
By having complete and total transparency in a relationship, spouses can work on compromising in areas where they don’t agree, share desires, and feel confident about knowing their spouse better than anyone else.
These are very good reasons as to why transparency is important.
