Empower your legacy

My dad passed away in 2010, two years after my mom. He didn’t have any money to leave my sisters and I  but he did leave us with something much more precious: his legacy.

In various countries across the globe where he preached, I meet people whose lives were touched by his presence. From former drug addicts to church-goers, I consistently hear  comments like, “your dad was a great man. He really changed my life etc…”

You see, for me this is worth more than money. This sentiment echoes the words that I said when I preached his funeral. “I am proud to be his son.”

To all the men out there, my message this Manhood Monday is simple.

Live a life that makes your children proud to call you their father.

You may not be a preacher, but you can be an awesome dad. You’ve got the potential to be the world’s best husband. We’re all flawed but we can learn from those mistakes and, with prayer and faith, improve.

Our days on earth are limited but our influence is not. Empower your legacy and be a good man.
